Adam L. Musfeldt, ChFC®
Approach
Adam Musfeldt, ChFC®, is an Investment Adviser Representative and Co-Managing Partner with Quantum Financial Partners, LLC. Based primarily in the firm’s Omaha office, Adam has worked in financial services since 2011. He works with people at many different stages of their financial lives to help them make informed financial decisions—from those building careers and accumulating wealth to established families, business owners, professionals, and retirees.
Adam believes good financial advice should be understandable. Some clients want the big picture explained in plain English, while others want to get into the weeds and understand the numbers behind every option. Adam enjoys both conversations. His approach is to meet people where they are, understand what matters to them, and make complicated financial decisions easier to understand.
His philosophy about investing is simple: you need the will, the skill, and the time. If you don't have all three—or simply don't want to manage everything on your own—Adam believes a trusted adviser can make a meaningful difference.
As a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), Adam has completed advanced education in comprehensive financial planning, including investments, retirement planning, insurance and risk management, taxation, and estate planning.
For Adam, being an adviser extends beyond managing investments. He strives to be a central point of coordination in his clients’ financial lives, working alongside their CPAs, attorneys, insurance professionals, and other trusted advisers. Depending on the client, that can include investment management, building and preserving wealth, retirement planning, risk management, estate and legacy considerations, charitable giving, and business planning.
As a business owner himself, Adam brings a practical perspective to the decisions and competing priorities business owners face, but his approach isn't built around any one profession or stage of life. He also enjoys helping families think across generations—whether that means building wealth today, preparing for retirement, preserving what has been accumulated, or helping the next generation become thoughtful stewards of what has been built.
Adam’s experience also includes insurance and risk management for individuals and businesses, providing an additional perspective when considering how risk fits into a broader financial plan. Adam is a separately licensed insurance professional, and his insurance activities are separate from Quantum Financial Partners and its investment advisory services.
One principle is particularly important to Adam: clients should hear from their adviser more when markets are down than when they are up. He believes uncertain markets are often when communication, perspective, and good advice matter most.
Background
Born and raised in Omaha, Adam officially began his financial services career in 2011, though his interest in investing began much earlier. His father, a former CFP® professional, introduced him to investing at a young age, giving Adam an early appreciation for thoughtful financial planning. Before joining Quantum Financial Partners in January 2018, Adam worked with Securian Financial Services and later served as a Senior Financial Consultant with TD Ameritrade. In addition to advising clients, Adam helps lead Quantum as a Co-Managing Partner and serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer.
Beyond the office
Adam’s family has roots in Manning, Iowa, giving him a personal familiarity with western Iowa and its farming communities. He also spends time in the Okoboji area throughout the year. With Quantum Financial Partners headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, Adam also maintains ties to the greater Kansas City area.
Adam currently serves on the board of The Arc of Nebraska and has previously been involved with the Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Mid-America Council of Scouting America. He is also a U.S. Army veteran who served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Outside of work, Adam is an avid fisherman and waterfowl hunter who enjoys boating, the outdoors, and spending time with his family on the water—whether it’s liquid or frozen. He and his wife, Alicia, have been married since 2011 and have two daughters, Kylie and Zoe.
Whether working with someone building wealth, navigating the complexities that come with financial success, preparing for retirement, or thinking about the next generation, Adam’s objective is the same: understand what matters to them, make the complicated understandable, and be there when advice matters most.
